Here at DivX Players UK we hope to provide you with information about standalone DivX Players which are available from the UK.
A standalone DivX Player is a DVD player which plays movies and video which has been compressed using the new MPEG4 standard such as DivX or XviD. Movies which have been compressed using DivX or XviD are much smaller than standard DVD's and the quality can be much higher than VCD / SVCD.
Over the last year, a number of these players have appeared on the UK market. Most of these players have all the features of standard DVD Players, such as the ability to play VCD, SVCD, MP3 and JPEG's but with the added bonus of playing DivX / XviD movies.
