How to join two DivX or XviD avi files with AC3 audio

Software required

VirtualDubMod
Latest DivX or XviD codec
AC3 codec

What to do

Using VirtualDubMod, open the first avi file with the 'Open video file...' option

Next append the second avi with the 'Append segment...' option

Next select 'Direct stream only' in the 'Video' options

Now you can save your joined avi with AC3 by selecting 'Save As...'. Make sure you choose a different name when you save, just in case.

It should take less than 10 minutes to save a 1.4 Gig joined avi file to your hard drive. VirtualDubMod will show you the estimated time for completion. If this estimated time is very large, such as a few hours, then a mistake has problably been made and you should abort and try again.
